Information and accessibility to data is key to the work of the Los Angeles County Office of Oil and Gas. We have created this Oil and Gas Well GIS Dashboard for viewing and researching in LA County. The dashboard helps you to find and locate wells as well as their status, well type, and other related information.
Under the Department of Public Health, the Office of Environmental Justice and Climate Health developed an interactive environmental mapping tool with the locations of oil and gas facilities and industrial and waste sites across Los Angeles County, including in and around neighborhoods, schools, and other community areas.
As part of the Just Transition Strategy, the Chief Sustainability Office completed a study to examine how oil well sites in unincorporated Los Angeles County can be evaluated, remediated, and potentially reused in ways that reduce environmental risk, advance equitable reinvestment, and support community-serving future uses.
